Download & Install CyanogenMod 14 (Android 7.0 Nougat) On Android One First Generation SmartPhones (Sprout 4):
The Internet giant Google launched Android One smartphones in September 2014. Within a short period, these smartphones became more popular. At that time Google promised that Android One smartphones would get updates for next two years. As an oath, Google continued to give updates. Recently, Google Released Android 7.0 (Nougat) update for some devices. But still, Android One devices didn’t get official OTA. But Varun Chitre, the recognized Android developer developed CM14 for first generation Android One devices (Sprout 4). Now every Android One user can experience the taste of Android 7.0 (Nougat). So, in this article, I am providing CM14 complete installation guide for Android One devices. As it is unofficial build, some of the features are not working. Varun Chitre clearly mentioned that Cellular data, Video encoding, and decoding are not working. Other remaining features are working well. Now let’s jump into the topic how to install CM14 On Android One devices.
How To Install CM14 On Android One First Generation SmartPhones (Sprout 4):
Steps to be followed to install CM14 On Android One devices are:
Make sure that you are using latest TWRP. If not first download
and flash TWRP recovery on your device.
CyanogenMod 14 (Unofficial) For Android One 4GB Variant and also download
Android 7.0 compatible Gapps.
Step 3: Then copy the downloaded zip files to your device’s internal storage.
Step 4: Now boot your Android device into recovery mode. To do this, just Power off the phone and hold Volume (+) and power button together until the device gets on. Then Press Volume (-) to select Recovery Mode.
Step 5: Then select wipe, and clear all the data such as Dalvik cache, cache partition, etc.
Step 6: Now Navigate to CM14 ROM zip file and flash it. Once ROM gets flashed, flash Gapps zip file also.
Step 7: Once flashing gets completed, go back to the main menu and select the Reboot option to Reboot your phone.
Step 8: For the first time, booting will take time. Enjoy Nougat after booting.
